My friend just got a tig welder, and is learning how to tigweld. From what I have heard, hes getting pretty decent for only having it for 2 weeks. The main reason he bought it was because hes making a 1000cc turbo gokart(or well at least trying) but the main thing for him was, he wanted to make it all himself. Now I have heard from some other people that when you weld the manifold(stainless) you should try to plug all the ends, and keep pouring gas into it while you are welding it. Is this needed? Anyone know the reason for doing this?
